Brendon K. came all the way from Canada to throw out the first pitch at Fenway with his dad who had always dreamed of visiting the Boston ballpark. The win came after a low-owned diamond in the rough prospect pulled out a late-game HR, and Brendon couldn’t sleep at all that night – just ask his wife.
Q Give us a play-by-play of your experience? Did you travel from far? What was your favorite part of your experience?
A We travelled from Abbotsford, BC (Canada) to Boston for the 1st pitch. It was amazing to be there with my dad, who had always wanted to visit Fenway. By far the best part was playing catch for 10 minutes with my dad on the Fenway warming track behind the plate. I was shocked they allowed us to do this, and that was the kind of experience that gives you chills.
Q Who did you bring with you on your experience?
A My dad.
Q Tell us about your winning contest "sweat. What contest did you enter (e.g. $3 PGA Qualifier)? Who was in your winning lineup?
ARed Sox First Pitch Experience - I was at home following the Brewers/Phillies games. I was in 2nd place until Odubel Herrera hit a late game HR to put me into first. He had a monster game, and was VERY low owned. I stacked both the Phillies and Brewers that day.
Q Where were you when you won? How did you celebrate? Fist pump like Tiger? Riverdance like Chad Ochocinco? “Ride the Bull” like Happy Gilmore?
A At home, watching the game and updating my wife on where I stood every 5 minutes. No big celebrations, but I had a hard time sleeping that night!
Q Favorite sports team? How long have you been a fan of this team? Favorite team moment?
A Toronto Blue Jays, since I was a child.
Q Favorite athlete?
A Jose Bautista.
Q Favorite sports movie?
A Fever Pitch.
Q Favorite sports memory?
A Being at CenturyLink Field for Richard Sherman's tip of Colin Kaepernick to secure a Super Bowl birth.
Q What else is on your sports bucket list?
A I want to get to a Super Bowl more than ANYTHING!
Q Favorite fantasy sport on DraftKings?
Q What do you love most about DraftKings?
A It's incredibly user-friendly. More so than any other DFS site.
