MLB All-Star Experience - San Diego

7/10 - 7/13   Chris D. / Bloomington, MN

Chris D. has always been a huge baseball fan - growing up watching the Braves through the good and the bad. Winning an All-Star Game Experience was a dream come true, but bringing his friend along to San Diego to share the once-in-a-lifetime experience is something he’ll cherish forever.

Q Give us a play-by-play of your experience? Did you travel from far? What was your favorite part of your experience?

A I flew from Minnesota to Vegas and then drove all back roads thru mountains, deserts and valleys picking fruit, seeds and other wild edibles along the way. Got to San Diego around 4:00 am and then did the all-star game stuff.

Best part was hanging with the Crime Dog. I was a huge Braves fan growing up so our interaction was a lot of fun even for him. Now that it's over, I'm now driving back a different back road route to Vegas where I'll meet up with an old friend I haven't seen in three years and fly out tonight.

Q Tell us about your winning contest "sweat". What qualifier did you enter (e.g. $3 PGA Qualifier)? Who was in your winning lineup?

A Entered a $3 entry for an all-star game experience. Had shoemaker as my pitcher and would've secured the win with his win but street blew the save. Luckily the Mariners got to extra innings and Nelson Cruz hit an infield single to send me to California.

Q Where were you when you won? How did you celebrate? Fist pump like Tiger? Riverdance like Chad Ochocinco? “Ride the Bull” like Happy Gilmore?

AAt home. Just lost my job the day before so it was nice. Had I had my job, I would've never made that lineup the way it was.

Q Where are you from?

A Minnesota.

Q Favorite sports team? How long have you been a fan of this team? Favorite team moment?

A My fantasy team that makes me money. I have no loyalty to a Minnesota team.

Q Favorite athlete?

A Cueto is probably my favorite to watch.

Q Favorite sports movie?

A Bull Durham and Major League.

Q What is your favorite sports memory?

A Kobe scoring 60 in his final game.

Q Favorite fantasy sport on DraftKings?

A Baseball and MMA.

Q What else is on your sports bucket list?

A Be on a football field and work out with them although I'm probably too old for that now (laughs).

Q What do you love most about DraftKings?

A Late swaps.
