After being down 20 points with one player left, Brian M. woke up to discover his last player would lead him to victory. He would now be going to 3 ballparks, including behind-the-scenes tours, watching batting practice from the field, throwing out first pitches and meeting radio announcing legends as the King of the Mound winner!
Q Give us a play-by-play of your experience? Did you travel from far? What was your favorite part of your experience?
A The great thing about this experience was the 3 cities in 4 days! Milwaukee, Cleveland, and NY are all great baseball cities with great parks so besides attending the games we had time to see a lot of what the cities had to offer. We arrived early enough to do Brewery tours in Milwaukee and attend the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and do some exploring in all 3 cities.
Once we got to the games we were met by our DraftKings host and team personnel and got a behind-the-scenes tours of the stadiums, attended batting practice on the field and of course threw out the first pitch! My favorite part though was being able to enter the Radio Booth in Cleveland, meet Tom Hamilton, and listen to him call 2 innings of the game. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience!
Q Tell us about your winning contest "sweat". What qualifier did you enter (e.g. $3 PGA Qualifier)? Who was in your winning lineup?
A This was my first time entering a 3$ Bucket List contest so I did 4 entries. I can’t remember the exact lineup I stacked but I know that Marcus Semien was the key. I went to bed around 11:30 and saw that I was down roughly 20 points to the leader. Knowing there was not much action remaining and I only had 1 player I left I didn’t think I had a chance...but Semien ended up with a double and triple and multiple RBIs in the late innings to seal the win for me!
Q Where were you when you won? How did you celebrate? Fist pump like Tiger? Riverdance like Chad Ochocinco? “Ride the Bull” like Happy Gilmore?
AI didn’t know what Semien had done so when I woke up I couldn’t believe my phone showed me as the winner. Pretty unsure what had happened I opened the Box Score and saw the comeback. Of course I frantically woke up my wife and let he know what I had won (she of course called dibs on the ballpark of her choice)!
